Poem By Darnnell Dorvil, Story Teller Gordon: BLM

I saw it before it unfolded, but I didn’t move

I stood there static as the confrontation ensued

Actually, I focused just enough to get a better view

I idly watched as the ratio grew,

From 1-on-1 to 4-on-1

As black got over run by blue

Silent as I observed excessive force being used

The memory not yet saved but my lens remained glued

stuck to a familiar scene who’s end I already knew.

A camera in the hand of a bystander,

Hoping someone would say cheese to get the officer to freeze

Instead he posed for the photo and never moved his knees

He remained statuesque

While another man plead “I can’t breathe”

Either My prayers for a voice fell on deaf ears

Or they were drowned out by his screams for “mama” as he knocked on death's door

I wish I could have seen less and said more.

Maybe that could have saved a life

Unfortunately, I'm only designed to save a file

Possible typo in my programming

Notwithstanding

I produced A video that went viral

Only to be discredited in comment sections

As if people saw something different in those 8 minutes and 46 seconds

As if I was the accomplice that helped hide his weapon

As if I should have been defending the man killing the man that was defenseless

As if I’m the one to blame for our country being split in different directions

All lives matter

Black lives matter

Blue lives matter

Battery lives matter

Because it’s only conversation when I catch it on camera.
